In an ideal world, appropriate estate planning is done during a person’s lifetime. However, it doesn’t always turn out that way. This session examines options available for implementing trust structures after death and the tax consequences that apply. It covers:

  • What limits apply to how much can be transferred to a post death trust?
  • S102 AG –excepted trust income and post death trusts
  • CGT issues, particularly CGT event K3, in post death trusts

Matthew Burgess, Director, View Legal

Matthew Burgess co-founded specialist firm View Legal in 2014, having been a lawyer and partner of one of Australia’s leading independent law firms for over 17 years. Matthew’s passion is helping clients successfully achieve their goals.
