There are a number of laws that will affect most contracts. As consumers, businesses and the wider community are given certain protections under the Australian Consumer Law.  This session will give an overview of the most important consumer law areas to keep in mind when drafting a contract, including:

  • Australian Consumer Law and unfair contract terms
  • Identifying terms that could be deemed unfair
  • Drafting clauses to meet your client’s goals while avoiding a label of being unfair
  • Navigating tricky situations and grey areas
  • Misleading and deceptive conduct and unconscionable conduct claims
  • How Australian Consumer Law issues impact on contractual rights and enforcement

Greg has over 20 years’ experience as a dispute resolution and litigation lawyer. He specialises in complex commercial and corporate disputes and litigation. He also specialises in regulatory disputes & litigation, commissions of inquiry and administrative law.
