Live Webinar: Tax Challenges in Estate Administration: Their Effect on Estate Planning

Presented by Patrick Ellwood

Thursday 15th June 2017

Vic, NSW, Qld, ACT, Tas: 3pm to 5pm
SA & NT 2.30 to 4.30pm
WA 1pm to 3pm

About the webinar

The tax implications of estate administration are not always thought through when it comes to the administration of the estate itself – but careful pre-planning can save precious tax dollars.  This webinar looks at some of the traps, which can be better addressed when planning the estate rather than after death.  It covers:

  • The problem of the illiquid super fund with lumpy assets vs the need to pay the death benefit
  • Can the trustee hold the asset on a bare trust?
  • Selling the asset and distributing the cash as an alternative – need for powers
  • Distribution of shares in private companies to non-resident beneficiaries of estate – liquidation as an alternative
  • IT 2622 Para 14 as an alternative

Who should attend

This webinar is suitable for lawyers throughout Australia who advise in estate planning matters – Australia wide. This webinar is for practitioners with some knowledge in this area and looking to improve their knowledge.
