This Legal Practice Management Course will be conducted entirely online

Making the transition from solicitor to principal of a law practice requires greater skills and understanding of the business of managing a legal practice.

This course is ideal for lawyers to gain a good grounding in law practice management or as a refresher course for more experienced practitioners.

Learn about the challenges and pitfalls of running your own practice, with an emphasis on financial management, strategic planning and business development. Discuss with experienced practitioners the typical issues faced in running a professional service firm including cash flow and profitability, maintaining trust accounts, dealing with common ethical dilemmas, and instituting business and risk management systems.

This course meets the requirements of the Queensland Law Society for obtaining a Principal Practising Certificate and is fully accredited by the Law Society.

Workshop Details: these workshops will be delivered via video conferencing on:

  • Thursday 9 November 2023 8.30am AEST to 5.00pm AEST
  • Friday 10 November 2023 8.30am AEST to 5.00pm AEST
  • Saturday 11 November 2023 8.30am AEST to 5.00pm AEST

Please note that: there will be regular breaks, including a lunch break, during each workshop day. Please refer to the program for timings; and
the end time of 5.00pm is approximate, some sessions may end earlier.

CPD information

This course meets the requirements of the Queensland Law Society for obtaining a Principal Practising Certificate and is fully accredited by the Law Society.
