 ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Estate planners often have to find a balance between their clients' need for security and control versus the necessity for accommodating change. It's not always easy. This year's annual estate planning conference will cover this balancing act, along with other vital topics estate planners regularly encounter, such as where superannuation sits in the estate plan, distribution dilemmas and the taxation of trusts, as well as challenging discretionary trust decisions. It also examines the ongoing use of gift and loan back arrangements, as well as protecting the bank of Mum and Dad.

Day 1 - Thursday 23 March 2023

Creating Certainty in the Estate Plan

  • Location, Location: Estate Planning in a Shrinking World
  • More than a Matter of Housekeeping: Life Tenancies and Rights to Reside
  • The Death Knell for Gift and Loan Back Arrangements in Estate Planning?
  • Musical Chairs: Where to Sit Superannuation in the Estate Plan?

Trusts in the Estate Plan

  • Distribution Dilemmas and Taxation in Trusts - an Update
  • Let Go from the Get Go? Incremental Control Mechanisms in Testamentary Trusts
  • Not Happy Jan: Challenging Discretionary Trust Decisions

PENFOLDS ST HENRI SHIRAZ OFFER

"For me, this is the wine of the entire release. An extraordinarily good St Henri and I could not encourage winelovers to fill their cellars with this wine more strongly which will comfortably sit with 2010 and 2012. I have no doubt that in years to come, it will be considered as one of the greatest St Henri’s ever made. It really is that good.  Colour is black and purple. The aromas kick off with cloves and black olives. Dark chocolate, mulberries, cassis, leather, hints of tobacco leaves, truffles, beef stock and blackberries. Power and concentration. What is not to love? Right on form. Complex, balanced, very long and generous. Abundant silky tannins. This is perfectly structured. Balance is the key. The balance allows the wine to exhibit Audrey Hepburn elegance and Arnie Schwarzenegger power. This has decades ahead. A great St Henri." 99 points, Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot

The wine will be available for collection from the registration desk at the conference. We have a guaranteed delivery but in the unlikely event that we run out of stock due to high demand, we reserve the right to supply a wine of equal value.
