Recorded Webinar: The New External Conduct Standards: Key Compliance Imperatives

12th September 2019
Duration:  approx. 1 hour

 ABOUT THE WEBINAR
The new External Conduct Standards came into effect recently, imposing significant new governance, record-keeping and oversight obligations on charities with activities outside of Australia. The new regulations are wide-ranging and are likely to affect any charity sending money overseas or working with third parties operating outside Australia.

This session examines what the new standards mean for your organisation and how to ensure you are prepared. It covers:

  • Examining the new standards

  • Unpacking the ACNC’s new ECS guidance

  • Identifying appropriate internal control procedures

  • Maintaining adequate records, including expenditure – on a country-by-country basis

  • Monitoring activities of partners and organisations that partners propose to work with – what does this mean in practice?

  • Are you caught out if transferring money to an overseas account of an ACNC registered recipient charity?

  • When will minor activities and small amounts of money be caught?

  • Examples of ways to meet the ECS

  • Compliance and enforcement

 PRESENTER
Recorded Webinars,Schools Law,Recorded Webinar: The New External Conduct Standards: Key Compliance Imperatives

Rebecca Lambert-Smith, Senior Lawyer, Moores, Victoria

Rebecca holds the contribution to the community made by her For Purpose clients in high regard. For this reason, she takes great pleasure in smoothing the way for them - whether it be helping a new organisation get on its feet, complex structuring advice or resolving internal disputes. It’s also why she regularly serves on not for profits boards, including (at the moment) a tertiary institution and a public benevolent institution.

With Rebecca, you know where you stand. She gets quickly to the heart of the matter and then formulates a strategy. There is no obfuscation; no sitting on the fence. Some say that she is direct. They are probably right. However Rebecca is able to combine that quality with emotional intelligence. The result is that she maps a way forward that leaves clients feeling confident and with relationships strengthened.
