Date: Monday 7th December 2020
Duration: 1 Hour

NSW has become the first jurisdiction in Australia to introduce a suite of defamation law reforms. • Rationale for the changes
  • Unpacking the reforms:
    • New public interest defence
    • Serious harm threshold
    • Cap on non-economic damages
    • Concerns notices
    • Single publication rule
    • Defence for scientific or academic peer-reviewed matters
  • Future reforms on the horizon
