About the Webinar

Options to renew in commercial and retail leases can allow for certainty in commercial arrangements of the parties over the long term. However, drafting effective options with clearly stated metrics and obligations is essential to ensure the exercise of the option runs smoothly. This webinar provides attendees with tips for drafting options to renew, including:

  • Is the option to renew an irrevocable offer or a conditional contract?
  • Conditions for exercising an option: do some or all conditions need to be met?
  • When will a failure to meet specific conditions invalidate the exercise of an option?
  • Key ingredients for drafting an effective option to renew.
  • Options to renew in retail leases: requirements for providing updated disclosure statements to a tenant.
