Indeed, recent studies indicate that charitable bequests now account for around 20 percent of the fundraising income of Australian charities. In order to allow charities to benefit fully from the generosity of a testator and avoid unnecessary litigation or unforeseen tax liabilities, charitable gifts must be drafted carefully.
Pensions can be commuted for reasons including to pay a death benefit, to meet the new transfer balance cap rules or to withdraw capital from the super system.
