In this era of increased remote and desktop-bound working, and increasing mechanisms and platforms for communication, it remains a challenge for professionals to receive honest, clear and comprehensive instructions from clients. This era of distributed collaborative computing has new contexts which introduce their own issues. There are risks and opportunities.
This paper explores the contemporary context for lawyers getting instructions as well as improving their use of digital media, including audio visual media. It suggests measures to spot warning flags, to ensure both client and practitioner are protected from interference or abuse. Additionally it emphasises the necessity for lawyers to improve their use of information, communications and content production technologies.
