There are a variety of tools and mechanisms at the disposal of family lawyers to assist solicitors and counsel alike in managing evidence throughout the life of a proceedings and at a final hearing. This session uses a de-identified case study to illustrate how tools including chronologies, notices to admit, strike out applications, objections and tables can be used in practice to reduce the time and cost required to prove issues at final hearing. It also examines:

  • The advantages and disadvantages of such tools and the circumstances in which they should be considered in a matter
  • How the use of such tools has been received and responded to by the courts

Having worked in specialist family law firms since 2011, Phillip understands the impact which underlying motivators often play in family law.
