Misleading and deceptive and unconscionable conduct claims are important consumer protections under the Australian Consumer Law. The principles applying to such claims have been evolving as result of recent court decisions, with a number of cases ending up in the High Court. In this program, barristers Sally Whiteman and Dr Michelle Sharpe, from the Victorian Bar, are going to guide us through: the relevant statutory provisions; the principles that the courts have determined apply; and the application of the principles in specific cases; and the challenges of litigating such claims.
