About the Webinar

Victoria’s strata and owners corporation landscape remains in transition, with post-2021 reforms bedding down and new Housing Statement changes adding fresh complexity. Lawyers are increasingly called on to navigate disputes over governance, building safety, and short-stay use. This session unpacks where the law stands now, what’s on the horizon, and the practical strategies lawyers need to manage risk. It covers:

  • The evolving regulatory framework: post-2021 amendments and Housing Statement impacts
  • Litigation hot spots at VCAT: short-stay accommodation, insurance, cladding, and defect disputes
  • Drafting strategies for new schemes and managing legacy governance issues
  • Risk management tools for practitioners advising owners corporations and strata stakeholders
