About the Webinar

This webinar is part of TEN’s “Back to Basics” range of webinars which are specifically produced for junior practitioners. This webinar is priced at only $99 as our way of giving back to the profession and providing a cost effective means for firms to provide CPD for junior practitioners.

Trust deeds are often complex documents but that doesn’t mean they can’t be drafted in a manner that is clear, unambiguous and allows all parties to understand the rights and obligations placed upon them. This session will focus on the key elements of a trust deed and tips for drafting to achieve clarity, including:

  • Type of trust and relevant legal requirements
  • Who are the parties and how do they need to be appointed and identified?
  • Describing the trust property
  • Powers of the trustee and the rights of beneficiaries
  • Including classes, restrictions and limitations
  • Preparing for contingencies such as death, addition or removal of relevant persons and other variations
  • Other key clauses
  • Examples and case studies
