  • What is a splittable payment?
  • Should the splittable payment be a dollar figure or a percentage?
  • What is the operative date?
  • What is the most appropriate splitting method? Order or agreement?
  • Factors to consider:
    • Transfer balance account issues
    • Tax consequences including CGT and whether any CGT rollover relief should be claimed
    • Other issues with SMSFs
  • Implementing a split
