  • The role, purpose and legal substance of DFAs
  • When a DFA can be entered into - what are its requirements and what matters ought to be considered
  • How to draft a DFA or agreement where there is a dispute or need to compromise or change the will itself - how specific do you need to be? When should it be prepared and/or finalised?
  • What provisions should you consider, including and tips for drafting enforceable clauses

Paige is a Partner and Head of HopgoodGanim Lawyer’s Estates and Succession practice in Brisbane.

A Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist in Succession Law, Paige is a trusted advisor to business owners, family offices, professional trustee companies and individuals with complex personal and financial affairs. She has extensive experience in estate planning, administration and is recognised for her ability to deliver strategic and practical solutions that protect wealth, reduce conflict and assist with smooth intergenerational transitions.

Paige regularly assists clients with the design and implementation of family constitutions, advisory boards, bespoke trust deeds and company constitutions, as well as restructuring entities to support long-term succession goals. She also facilitates family meetings and works closely with accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to provide integrated solutions.

Paige has a particular interest in trust law, including charitable trusts, superannuation funds and family trusts. She advises trustees on the discharge of their obligations and frequently acts in applications to the Court for directions, rectification of trust deeds, or reconstruction of lost deeds.

Paige attained a Bachelor of Laws (Corporate and Commercial Law Specialisation) from Bond University and a Master of Taxation (Tax Law) from the University of New South Wales.
