About the Webinar

Client confidentiality is expressly included as a requirement in both the Tax Practitioners Board’s Code of Professional Conduct and the Accountant's Code of Ethics (APES 110). However, in today's world of fast-paced technology, could it be that inadvertent breaches are unknowingly occurring? • A review of the TPB's requirements and the Code of Ethics APES 110 concerning client confidentiality
  • How the confidentiality requirements could be being inadvertently breached in practice?
  • Tips for managing client confidentiality for:
    • outsourcing of accounting and tax services
    • engagement letter responses
  • When is it acceptable to share confidential client information and data?
  • When is it a legal requirement to share confidential client information?
  • Strategies and tips to manage cyber security and client confidentiality
  • Accountant’s suspicion of financial or elder abuse occurring to a client - what action options does the accountant have?
