Recorded Webinar: Managing the Total Super Balance

Date: Monday 6th February 2023
Duration: Approximately 1 Hour

TSB is a relatively new concept to add to the super jargon practitioners need to be on top of. Whilst the definition is simple enough, the implications of its use are not so. The session explores the use of the TSB and its interaction with various superannuation strategies, including:

  • The interaction between the TSB and the general transfer balance cap
  • How the TSB can affect superannuation strategies, including:
    • bring forward non-concessional contributions
    • carry forward of unused concessional contributions
  • Withdrawal strategies to manage the TSB
  • Why the sequence of contributions can be so important
  • Strategies for timing of contributions with caps and limits, including:
  • the super capital gains tax election amounts, and
  • the small business CGT concessions
  • What are the implications of exceeding the TSB cap?
  • Case studies
